Most of the modern century Danish furniture was designed from the 1940's to the 1960's. Even though there is a possibility that the number of furniture constructed are relatively few than other furniture made in different eras, most of the Danish furniture are still in very good condition.
Modern Danish furniture is usually made in Teak which is a very strong kind of wood. This is the reason why a lot of modern Danish furniture are still usable and being sold on the internet and various vintage shops.
There are a lot of replicas now of this kind of furniture because many people admire their clean and smooth construction. These replicas probably will cost less than restoring an original piece but do take note that buying an original piece is more considered as an investment because antique collectors guarantee that the craftsmanship of furniture made in this era will last a lifetime.
Also take note that there are scammers out there who will possibly take advantage of people who do not know much about this type of furniture. It is recommended that a person reads a lot about the signs that the furniture being sold is real and not just a replica. This way, the person will not waste his/her money.
There are many popular designs that came out of this trend. The first one is egg chair which are very popular and you most likely have already seen. They were first designed in 1958 by Arne Jacobsen for his hotel in Copenhagen.
Another very cool example of Danish modern furniture is the PH lamp which was designed in 1926. This lamp has concentric shades of different diameters and creates many reflected lights behind the light bulb of different colors.
